چکیده

Abstract In mortars, the use of fibres has been diachronically a commonly used technique. Ancient Greece, wood and straw were particularly to increase volume stability in clay lime mortars. Overtime, with evolution technology, natural replaced by modern materials like polypropylene, steel, glass carbon fibres. Recently, climate change strong demand for independence from non-renewable mineral resources have urged search alternative ways utilize bio-materials produce innovative, high value-added products. The waste material, coming loggings or trunks mechanical processing, constitutes valuable bio-degradable, non-toxic material low environmental impact that could be utilized as reinforcements advanced polymer composites. current study, two widely available species (black pine beech) (1-2 cm length). added lime-based cement-based mortars proportion 1.5% v/v mortar. Physical, thermal properties tested at age 28 90 days, while fresh state, workability mixtures was recorded. It found traditional systems, formulations black required higher amount water same probably due hygroscopicity This not case systems. Small reduction recorded, well an capillary absorption bio-fibres reinforced samples. Thermal conductivity improved porosity increase. all cases, shape samples retained even after fracture crack formation. Between used, gave more beneficiary results. general, wood-fibres revealed potential upgrade lime- performance further promoted construction sector.

Pseudallescheria angusta, A LIGNINOLYTIC MICROORGANISM FOR WOOD FIBRES BIOMODIFICATION

Nowadays, the discovery of lignocellulolytic microorganisms that are better adapted to operational conditions while exhibiting the strong degrading activities is highly desired for successful lignocellulose biotransformation processes. In this study, microorganisms were isolated from lignocellulose-rich composting materials by selective methods. A screening of isolates known to have lignocellul...

Dissolution mechanisms of wood cellulose fibres in NaOH - water

Four wood pulps and a microcrystalline cellulose were dissolved in a NaOH 8% water solution. Insoluble fractions and clear solution fractions were isolated by centrifugation and were observed by optical microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. Molecular weight distribution, carbohydrate composition and cellulose II content were measured. The dissolution of wood cellulose fibres in NaOH ...

Simulating the Dynamics of Flexible Wood Pulp Fibres in Suspension

We investigate the dynamics of a flexible, elastic fibre, suspended in a fluid and subjected to a 3D shear flow. Simulations are performed using the “Immersed Boundary Method,” and are distinguished by their ability to capture the hydrodynamic interaction between the fluid and fibre, as well as the detailed structure of the individual fibres. Suspensions of flexible fibres are encountered in ma...
